From Models to Data

Johann Matinez Huartos - TBA

The seminar will take place at 12 in room 1204, 12th floor, EEE building.

Eduardo Viegas - PhD starting group seminar

This week Eduardo M Viegas will tell us about:

1) A critique of the traditional economic and finance principles. Why I believe those to be wrong/incomplete.

2) The interaction between economics (macro), behavioural finance (individuals), and complex networks

3) A brief explanation of the current financial crisis.

4) The research proposal, and initial thoughts.

Alexander Hartmann - Negative weight percolation

We describe a percolation problem on lattices (graphs, networks),

with edge weights  drawn from disorder distributions that allow for

weights (or distances)  of either sign, i.e. including negative
